Zoanthids are a beginner friendly colony coral that will encrust across rock and slowly fill in open space over time. They tolerate a wide range of lighting and flow, which makes them one of the most forgiving corals you can keep. Zoanthids and their close relatives contain palytoxin, one of the most potent toxins known, so always wear gloves when handling or fragging them and never let the mucus or cut tissue near your eyes, mouth, or an open cut.
