Leather corals are a soft coral known for their tough, leathery flesh and constant gentle swaying in the current. They tolerate a wide range of lighting and flow, grow quickly compared to most stony corals, and periodically shed a thin film to keep their surface clean, which is completely normal. Leathers are a great choice for a hobbyist who wants strong, visible movement in the tank without the demands of an SPS setup.
